Privacy Policy – AutoPrompt

Last updated: February 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how AutoPrompt (“we”, “our”, or “the extension”) collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the AutoPrompt Chrome extension and related services.

1. What AutoPrompt Does

AutoPrompt is a Chrome extension that helps you refine and improve text (e.g. prompts, emails, messages) using AI. You select text on a webpage, trigger the extension (e.g. via a keyboard shortcut), and the extension sends that text to our backend to return a refined version, which you can accept or discard. The extension also supports signing in (e.g. with Google or email) and tracks daily usage to apply fair request limits.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide and operate the extension:

3. How We Use This Information

We do not use your data for advertising, selling data to third parties, or building marketing profiles.

4. Who We Share Data With

We share data only with service providers that help us operate the extension:

We do not sell or rent your data. We do not share your data with other third parties except as required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

5. Data Retention

6. Your Rights and Choices

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures (including HTTPS and secure authentication) to protect data in transit and at rest. Authentication is handled by Supabase; we do not store your password. No part of the extension runs arbitrary code from remote servers; only our own backend and the AI provider receive the data necessary to perform the refinement.

8. Children

AutoPrompt is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this URL and, where appropriate, notify you (e.g. via the Chrome Web Store listing or in the extension). The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest change. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
